Measure to Enhance Your Car Security

Car Security refers to the degree of protection measures one takes against any theft, damage or any other criminal activity. Cars and other vehicles have had always been considered as precious assets for people. Ever since vehicles came into being, and people started owning one, there had been a threat of theft and damage. Earlier vehicle owners used steering locks and brake locks to prevent theft. However, crooks soon became intelligent enough to break through those locking systems and steal the vehicle away.

Thanks to technology today; we have a variety of security systems with a number of different technical gadgets and software applications that help us keep our precious asset safe. Moreover, thanks to the e-world and the satellites, as they allow us to track out vehicle from any location, at any time with the help of our computers, palm tops or cell phones.

The most basic method of car security used commonly today is the Audio Car Alarm system. Different vendors would offer different car Alarm system, each with different features, characteristics and cost. One of the kinds is Visual Alarm. As soon as the alarming system sensors detect a threat it starts flashing vehicle’s head lights and park lights. Audible alarm is also a commonly used system; loud sirens make enough noise to warn the whole vicinity.

It is common in countries with higher street crime rates, people find their vehicles damaged in the car park area.To ensure greater safety; motion detectors are a wonderful device to deploy in a vehicle. Motion detector sounds alarm as soon as it senses a movement in a predefined area. The convenience of this system is that the owner can also leave the car’s window open. Motion detectors would not let the crook scratch your car even a bit.

Once securing a car was a challenge for its owner, today stealing a vehicle is a challenge for crooks. The Global Positioning System tracking system works with the help of a satellite. The satellite either takes an image of the object on the earth or it works with a Global System for Communication. A GSM module sends messages to the satellite, which forwards the message to the controlling system. The messages include its location on earth, as well its status of ignition. Even if the thief successfully breaks the vehicle’s alarm system, he will not run far with it! The GPS system is also used to remotely switch the ignition off! Now, one can own a vehicle without worrying for a threat.By Arshadali Mahmud

Necessity of Car Shipping Transportation

Lot of times in our lives we have come across moving and settling in newer places. The process of shifting is a complicated one and it involves lot of planning and focus. In fact people plan ahead of months for shifting houses or offices. Larger the property to be shifted, involves more overhead on planning process. Finding a newer place is primarily the biggest concern. However it all starts with the location. But that is just a small factor influencing our troubles of life. The following issues are when is the right time to move, how to go ahead with the moving, what are the things to be sold or left behind, what are newer things to be purchased to make our dream house come true etc. If you have a heavy vehicle or car, transporting it is one of the biggest concerns. Cars are huge properties and they impose very high responsibilities upon us, smallest of jerks can impose heavy damage on these properties. It has to be handled with at most care. These problems become bigger if we are locating to a newer state or country itself as the distance increases when compared to normal circumstances.

Auto Transport companies understand these issues when it comes to shifting. The objective of these companies and the biggest factor that gives them business is to shift these heavy vehicles with high quality service and attain customer satisfaction. They understand the importance of moving these vehicles. For them to attain profits and get reputed, it is important for customers to believe in them and be confident about the protection and care when they fix up a deal. Thus they provide good price deals, assure commitment, and values customer satisfaction for all levels, both for individuals as well as corporate.

Auto transport companies must have a public liability, load assurance, care for possessions, and abide by the laws of state government as well as transport department. In order to be successful, the company needs to be well equipped and provide complete guidance and transport assistance. Their reputation increases with the quality of service they provide and in the end it is all about which company provides the best service amidst all competitors stands out best.

These are the background factors contributing to the company’s success. However, in reality, when it comes to service providing, it is the actual driver who needs to perform and represent the company. He has to be highly qualified for the job; he should be an expert in terms of driving and aware of all possible routes to every destination. He should be licensed by the government to drive. He should always have his paperwork while doing his job. The companies are in a way responsible for training these drivers to be an expert as these people act at the front end portion of the job and they carry the face of the company.

As for us, we have so much to worry about and there are experts to help us when it comes to transporting our properties. So our only responsibility in this matter is to seek for the right company.

Truck Operators Hit Hard by Cost of AdBlue Contamination

AdBlue is highly susceptible to contamination and as little as 10ml of oil present in a 70 litre fill can corrupt the system causing irreversible damage. A Crewe-based trucking company recently faced a £3500 bill for a failed SCR injector on a Renault Magnum after putting a small amount of diesel in the AdBlue tank. Richard Brain, Regional Service Manager for PACCAR Australia, which includes DAF trucks, says just a small amount of chemical impurity in the tank can cause problems.

“What is costly for operators is if chemical additives are mixed in with the AdBlue, as they will attack the rubber seals, causing terminal damage,” Brian says. “Replacing an SCR unit is over $5000 each, and this happens if diesel or other chemical contamination occurs,” he says. While not common, Brain says anyone who tries to ‘boost’ the performance of the SCR unit by adding diesel, methylated spirits or other chemicals will only cause it to fail, which in turn means a full replacement.

“These units are not repairable, they are a replacement item only, you throw them away and buy a new one,” Brain warns. Of course the repair costs, even though they are significant themselves, can be the easy pain compared with potentially lost loads and any associated downtime whilst recovery and repairs are carried out.

A lot of effort has been made by the AdBlue distributors to try and ensure contamination free delivery of AdBlue. However, significant risks of contamination exist even after the AdBlue has made it to the truck. Since the introduction of SCR to meet the European emissions legislation, there have been a growing number of instances of AdBlue contamination caused by small amounts of diesel being put into AdBlue tanks. As this problem is not officially covered under warranty, commercial vehicle operators could be left thousands of pounds out of pocket.

However, there are preventative products on the market that can help to stop you contaminating your AdBlue fuelled vehicle and for a small protective investment you can save yourself a large repair bill and downtime of your vehicle.

The Adblue Key is a built-in mechanism which only opens when the AdBlue nozzle is inserted (manual fill or pumped). The Adblue Key has been designed so that if you do try to put diesel into the AdBlue tank and any diesel is released, it will run off through the drain off holes and none can enter the AdBlue tank. Adblue Key is made of the same polyoxymethylene (POM) materials as the rest of the SCR system, conforming to the same rigorous testing.

US Vehicle Safety Standards Fail To Account For Entire Population

As Americans have grown larger – 25 pounds for the average adult since 1960, according to the National Center for Health Statistics-government seat belt standards have remained the same since they were first implemented over 40 years ago. In California, more than 50 percent of adults are overweight or obese, according to a recent report from the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research. Many obese drivers cannot find belts that fit, so they don’t wear them, thereby increasing their risk of personal injury during an accident, and leading safety advocates and lawyers to support a revision of the country’s seat belt safety standards.

According to a new study published in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine, morbidly obese drivers have a 56 percent increased risk of dying from injury in a serious car accident compared to drivers of a normal weight. Additionally, even moderately obese drivers have a 21 percent greater chance of a fatal accident. The results of a survey recently published in the journal Obesity suggest low seat-belt use may be a contributing factor, as only 70 percent of obese drivers reported that they always wore a seat belt. Failing to wear a seat belt not only increases a driver’s risk of personal injury, but could also lead to expensive tickets; according to one California lawyer, an adult seat belt violation in that state will cost a driver $142.

In 2003, 38 million Americans were larger than the seat belt measurements with which manufacturers were required to comply, prompting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, NHTSA, to consider accommodating drivers heavier than 215 pounds, the longtime standard. Fortunately, even though NHTSA made no design revisions, many automakers did, offering larger seat belts and extenders as options.

Accounting for the entire population when testing and designing vehicles, such as using test dummies that represent underweight, normal, and overweight or obese drivers, is one change that could improve safety. At present, vehicles are only tested with dummies representing people in the normal-weight category.

In the meantime, selecting a vehicle that fits one’s size is very important. Here are a few tips to consider when buying a car:

• Always try to buy a full size sedan or truck that will allow for complete extension of the legs. This will prevent leg cramping and pain from pressure on the midsection.
• Look for a vehicle with a tilt steering wheel. This will allow for adjustments so that the midsection does not interfere with driving. Ideally, a driver’s midsection should be at least 10 inches from the steering wheel.
• Seat belt extenders should fit properly; otherwise, they could cause injuries during an accident.

The safety of the entire population should be considered when the government sets new standards for automakers. Hopefully, whether as a result of legislation or of consumer demand, obese Americans will be better accounted for in the future.By London Severson

Car Accessories That Can Be Dangerous

I don’t think people realize how much of a danger some of their car accessories can really be until they get into an accident and then realize they shouldn’t have been paying so much attention to something other than driving. What gets me confused is that manufacturers build the cars for safety, but the things that are built inside the car get you distracted from the road. How does that work? Here’s another one – if the speed limit is 65 MPH, why do they make cars go faster than that?

06. Lift Kit
- When people usually use a lift kit in order to improve the car’s center gravity, it’s basically like putting a coin on its edge rather than on its face. The higher the boost is, the more likely your car is to flipping.

05. Fog Lights that are colored
- When you need to replace your Fog Lights, it’s best if you stay using the standard-issue fog lights because they’re safer for other drivers; you don’t want to be blinding people when you drive. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the only advantage that yellow lights have is that they have a better appearance that some people prefer to have.

04. TV Screens on your dash
- For one, why are there TV Screens on the dash; where people usually look to see how fast they’re going and how much gas they have left. At first they were only meant for the kids in the back who wouldn’t stop crying, but now the adults are getting in the fun. Virginia and Illinois are two states that actually have a law prohibiting the installation of any screens in the front where the driver can see.

03. GPS Systems
- I think these are kind of the same as TV Screens: it has colors on it and you can get distracted by it. I guess it’s good because it shows you where you need to go and all that jazz, but what if you get confused and just keep looking at the screen? Then what happens? You don’t see where you’re going and there’s a big possibility that you can get into an accident.

02. Cup Holders
- I think this is more for people who drink hot coffee – which is probably the majority of us. When you spill it, you’ll most likely end up swerving and just doing things to other drivers that you really shouldn’t do.

01. Limo Tints
- Usually, when you have really dark tinted windows, cops can’t see you; this means that you think you can get away with doing whatever you want. These things that you do keep you super distracted from the road – especially since you think that the cops can’t see whatever you’re doing in there.

I think that these are most of the things that can keep people like me and you really distracted from putting all of our focus on driving. Sure I understand that when you have people in the car, you’re going to be talking to them, but they can see where you’re going so if you do something wrong, they can tell you your mistake. When you’re driving by yourself, you don’t have that extra safety.By Cristine Gutierrez
